Don’t Pit Your Children Against Your Spouse
I once saw a movie. A young man was cruel to his mother and siblings. He never wanted to look at her or the other siblings. His dear mother sobbed uncontrollably as she tried to figure out where she had gone wrong. What had she done wrong for his son to disrespect him?
It was so awful that his wife had to sneak behind him to assist his mother. She was always pleading with the mother-in-law to please forgive the son, as she couldn’t explain why he was treating her so badly.
The wife once asked him why he was doing this out of frustration. Didn’t you tell me about how your mother and siblings did everything they could to help you get through school after your father died?
How do they all pool resources to help you get through school? He simply advised her to stay out of it. It’s his problem, not hers.At the end of the day, he was only acting out the script that his late father had given him when he was a child.
As a child, whenever there was a quarrel between his parents, his father would always tell him not to be favorably inclined toward his mother when God blessed him. Making the claim that the mother is evil. That had been in his subconscious mind all the time. By the time he was opening up, he had already lost his mother and younger sister.
Have you seen a lot of children going around with an unexplainable attitude toward one of their parents? The foundation was laid by one of the parents a long time ago.
Set aside your differences and don’t pit your children against your spouse. You will end up destroying your home.
