What Exactly Is Discipline

What Exactly Is Discipline

Every parent has a time when they are unsure of how to discipline their child. “Bad children do not exist; only bad behavior does.”

Because they are stressed and see no other option, parents scream and hit their children. Discipline must not include yelling and beating.

Discipline is a process of instructing, teaching, leading, and guiding people, as well as correcting and rebuking them with careful instructions and great patience. 2 Timothy 4:2.

It comes from the term disciple. This term refers to a student or someone who studies. The term “discipline” comes from the Latin word “disciplina,” which means “to instruct and train.”

Can you see it now? Discipline is not to beat, bully, threaten, or inflict pain, but to train, teach, or instruct.

It takes time and patience to get there. It’s a tool for parents. It’s about teaching your youngster what behaviors are acceptable and which are not. It’s a chance to connect with your child and guide them toward actions that will benefit them both now and in the future.

It is a process of grooming, nourishing, discipling, and mentoring. It’s a method of conditioning or programming your youngster to do the correct thing at the appropriate moment, even while you’re not around.

It is responding to children’s behavior rather than reacting to it, offering them a viable alternative. Teaching them what to do instead of what they’ve done in the past.

It’s a method of empowering children to make their own decisions. Giving them the ability to make better choices in the future.

Whatever form of discipline you choose should teach or train your children the appropriate way to respond in a situation until your child has learnt, he is not disciplined.
